Influencing the Seven Mountains for the Kingdom of God: In advancing the Kingdom of God, believers are called to influence the earth for Christ. The Church is not a passive observer but a governmental body—God’s instrument for change and transformation in society.
As Revelation 5:10 declares, “You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.”
This dual calling—priests and kings—reveals our twofold mandate: worship and governance. The priest represents ministry to God and His people; the king represents divine authority and administration in the marketplace.
Zechariah 6:13 portrays this harmony: “He will sit and rule on his throne, and he will be a priest on his throne. And there will be harmony between the two.”
We are not saved merely to wait for heaven; we are commissioned to bring heaven’s influence to earth. The Kingdom advances when God’s people rise to shape culture, systems, and nations.
The Seven Mountains of Influence
There are seven key spheres—often called the Seven Mountains of Influence—that shape the culture of every nation:
Family, Religion (Spirituality), Business (Economy), Politics (Government), Education, Media, and Arts (Entertainment, Celebration, Sports).
Whoever occupies these mountains determines the values and direction of society. If the Church neglects them, other powers will dominate. But when believers engage them with kingdom principles, transformation follows.
Revelation 17: 8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not, and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit and go into perdition; and they that dwell on the earth, whose names were not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, shall wonder when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. 9 “And here is the mind which hath wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sitteth. 10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other has not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.
1. The Seven Mountains of Family
Family is the first institution God created. “The LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for His treasured possession” (Deuteronomy 7:6-8). Through Abraham, God promised that “in you all the families of the earth will be blessed” (Genesis 12:3).
Healthy families are the foundation of righteous nations. Yet today, family is under attack—through divorce, fatherlessness, and redefinition of marriage. The Church must model strong marriages and godly parenting, restoring love, order, and covenant values. When hearts of fathers turn to children (Malachi 4:5-6), a generation is healed.
2. The Mountain of Religion (Spirituality)
True Christianity is not a religion of human effort, but a relationship of sonship. “As many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God” (Romans 8:14).
Religion without relationship leads to conflict and hypocrisy. The Church must reveal Christ—not rituals but transformation. “You are come unto Mount Zion… to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem” (Hebrews 12:22). We are Zion, the dwelling place of God’s presence on earth, and through us His rule extends to every sphere.
3. The Mountain of Business (Economy)
Economics is the bloodstream of nations. God desires His people to steward wealth for Kingdom purposes. Deuteronomy 28:8 promises, “The LORD shall command the blessing upon you in your storehouses and in all that you set your hand to do.”
Joseph ruled the economy of Egypt and became a channel of preservation during famine (Genesis 41:41-49). Likewise, believers must rise with divine wisdom in finance, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The marketplace is a mission field—our work is worship when governed by righteousness and integrity.
4. The Mountain of Government
Proverbs 29:2 says, “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when the wicked rule, the people groan.”
The Church must not abandon government but equip Daniels, Esthers, and Josephs to influence policy with justice and truth. As Esther stood before the king to save her nation, so must we stand in intercession and active participation for the sake of righteousness. Governance is not about domination—it’s about stewardship under God’s authority.
5. The Mountain of Education
Education shapes minds and future leaders. Scripture reminds us that “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6). When truth is absent from the classroom, deception thrives. Christian educators, thinkers, and parents must restore moral foundation and biblical worldview to this mountain, raising a generation that fears God and values wisdom above information.
6. The Mountain of Media
The media shapes perception. Ephesians 2:2 calls Satan “the prince of the power of the air,” influencing minds through falsehood. Yet God’s people are also called to this sphere—to proclaim truth and light. We must invest in and occupy media platforms to communicate righteousness, hope, and good news with excellence.
7. The Mountain of Arts and Entertainment
Music, film, and sport reach hearts faster than sermons. God is calling creative believers to release beauty, joy, and inspiration that reflect His glory. Zechariah 4:7 declares, “Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain!” Grace empowers us to reclaim every cultural mountain for Christ.
A Call to Arise
Transformation will not happen overnight—it begins when the Church sees the workplace as a ministry platform and believers live out Kingdom values wherever they are.
Jesus said, “You are the light of the world… a city set on a hill cannot be hidden” (Matthew 5:14).
Let us rise as priests and kings—agents of God’s Kingdom—bringing His justice, wisdom, and love to every sphere of society until “the kingdoms of this world become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ” (Revelation 11:15).
