Frequently Asked Questions

0. Why won’t Amazon let me leave a review on a free Kindle book I downloaded?

Amazon loves reviews (almost as much as we do), but they also have a few rules to keep things fair. If you downloaded a Kindle book for free, here’s why you might not be able to leave a review:

Verified Purchase Matters: Amazon prefers reviews from readers who actually purchased the book. Free Kindle downloads don’t always count as “verified.”

$50 Rule: Your Amazon account must have spent at least USD $50 (or the equivalent in your local currency) on Amazon in the past 12 months—free books don’t count toward that.

Spam Protection: To stop fake reviews from flooding in during free book promotions, Amazon limits reviews from accounts that haven’t been actively shopping.

📚 Translation: If Amazon says “not eligible,” it usually means your account hasn’t crossed that $50 purchase mark in the last year. Once you’ve done that, you can leave reviews—even on free books.

Think of it as Amazon’s way of making sure only real readers with real shopping carts are leaving reviews. We know—it feels like Jeff Bezos himself is standing at the door with a clipboard, checking receipts.

✅ In short: You need to have spent at least $50 on Amazon in the past 12 months, and free Kindle books don’t count toward that. Once you’ve met that requirement, you can leave reviews—whether or not the book was free. However YOU CAN leave a review at our Book Shop.

15. Why are some books not available in Kindle version?

Not every book in our collection has been converted to Kindle yet. Some titles are still only available in print-on-demand paperbacks, either because:

  • The digital formatting process takes time and care (especially with older or rare works).
  • Certain books are better experienced in print due to charts, tables, or unique layouts.
  • In some cases, publishing rights or technical challenges delay the Kindle release.
  • The good news? We are actively working to make as many titles as possible available in Kindle format. If you’d like to see a specific book released on Kindle, drop us a note in comment below—we love hearing which titles readers are most eager for!

16. Why are some books not available in paperback version?

Some of our titles are currently available only as Kindle eBooks. This usually happens because:

  • The book is newly released, and the paperback edition hasn’t been formatted or approved yet.
  • Certain books are shorter works (tracts, essays, or study guides) that are better suited for digital format.
  • In some cases, paperback production costs would make the book unreasonably expensive to print.
  • We’re always working to expand our paperback catalog, so if you’d love to see a specific title in print, let us know—we keep a list of reader requests when planning future releases.

17. Why aren’t some of your Kindle books available in Kindle Unlimited?

Great question!

Some of our Kindle books are public domain works (classic Christian writings that are now free from copyright restrictions). Because Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited program only accepts books that are exclusively enrolled with them, public domain titles don’t qualify.

  • The good news? These treasures are still available to purchase at a low cost. Think of it as Amazon’s way of saying, “You can borrow the new stuff, but the classics are already everyone’s inheritance.”
  • Amazon has special rules for public domain works (classic writings no longer under copyright). Because these books technically belong to the public, Amazon does not allow them to be included in Kindle promotions such as free giveaways, countdown deals, or Kindle Unlimited.
  • However, we still make these titles available in both Kindle and paperback so they can continue to reach new readers. Our editions are carefully formatted, proofread, and presented in a way that honors their original message—so you’re not just getting “any old free copy,” but a clean, readable version you’ll want to keep.

Hope that helps you!

18. Why do some public domain books have a cost on Kindle?

You’re right!

Public domain works (like many classic Christian writings) are technically free for anyone to use. However, not all “free” copies floating around online are easy to read. Many are poorly scanned, full of typos, or missing pages.

Our editions are different. We invest time in:

  • Careful editing and proofreading to restore readability.
  • Modern formatting for Kindle and paperback.
  • Covers and layouts that make the book attractive and useful for study.

So while the text itself is free in theory, what you’re paying for is the quality of the edition—a clean, reliable, and enjoyable version you can actually read without frustration. Think of it as buying a finely bound Bible rather than a stack of photocopies.
